Crocheting a Christmas Tree - The joy of the Christmas season: delicious food, decorating your home with Christmas decorations, and hanging lights to really get into the spirit. Of course, no Christmas celebration is complete without a Christmas tree, which is why we’re crocheting this cute little tree. Hang some lights in there, and your Christmas is complete!
A cute, crocheted little tree to get you through the Christmas season. Using two different types of yarn gives the tree a real pine tree look. The green base is made from Katia Canada, a sturdy yarn for size 7-8 needles. The variegated Olympia Tweed yarn adds a playful touch.
The tree is crocheted using the crocodile stitch (or scale stitch). This stitch was previously featured in the “Stitch of the Month” section. Click here to see the instructions for the crocodile stitch.
Christmas tree height: 23 cm (excluding the trunk)
What do you need for the Christmas tree:
- 2 balls of Katia Canada, color 15
- 1 ball of Olympia Tweed, color 708
- Crochet Hook size 12
Christmas Tree Crochet Pattern
We’ve used this Christmas tree pattern before. By choosing a different type of yarn, it turned out completely different this time. This way, you can create endless variations yourself. Choose a thinner yarn for a smaller tree, or a thicker yarn if you want the tree to be even bigger. We really like the combination of variegated and solid-colored balls, but of course you can create your own favorite combination! Read the Christmas tree Crochet Pattern here.
