Knitting on Knitting Rings
Petra is getting started with Knitting Rings! She explains all the things you can do with Knitting Rings and how handy they are for knitting a Hat, for example. The video doesn't show how to wrap the yarn around the pins. Luckily, it's very simple!
To cast on, start with a cast-on loop on one of the pins. Next, make an “e-wrap” around the following pins. An “e-wrap” means you wrap the yarn once around the next pin, so that the yarn crosses on the inside of the ring. When you turn (or your ring is complete) and have a second e-wrap on your pin, you can start making yarn overs—and you’ve made your first stitches!
Coffee & Wool Knitted Scarf
And here we go again: the stitch scarf is getting a colorful twist this week. Saskia can’t resist turning a stitch into her own creation, so here are the “little microphones”!
If you're crocheting with a single strand of yarn—and therefore not joining a new strand each time—it's important that this stitch ends up on the front of the Scarf.
Row 6: Work 3 chain stitches and a double crochet in the first stitch, a double crochet in the second stitch, 3 chain stitches, *yarn over twice and work a double crochet in the arch from the previous row, crochet a single crochet around the double crochet, repeat 4 times (5 times total), pull the yarn through the loops, 3 chain stitches.* Repeat *-* until the last arch. End the round with 2 treble crochets.
A new episode of "Koffie & Wool" is posted online every Friday. The next episode will be on April 10, 2015.
