Crocheting Spring Flowers - Just for spring, we’ve designed three spring flowers that are sure to cheer you up. In the spring and early spring, these beautiful flowers burst out of the ground. So beautiful! Unfortunately, these flowers bloom for only a short time, but don’t worry—you can ALWAYS enjoy these cute crocheted spring flowers! We’ve chosen our three spring favorites: a beautiful yellow daffodil, graceful blue grape hyacinths, and a cheerful pink tulip!

First, crochet the potting soil, then the spring flowers; next, place your crochet creation in a cute (Terracotta) pot, and enjoy! All three patterns are described below. Crochet Pattern: Potting Soil

Crochet the potting soil for each pot according to the pattern below. Start crocheting at the top of the potting soil. Use a 3mm Crochet Hook and Brown yarn.

Round 1: Crochet a magic ring of 6 sc, or do it this way: Chain 2. Crochet 6 sc in the first chain. Crochet 1 sl st in the first sc so that you have a circle of 6 sc (6).
Round 2: Crochet 2 dc in each dc (12).
Round 3: crochet 2 dc in every 2the v (18).
Round 4: Crochet 1 single crochet. * Crochet 2 single crochets in the next single crochet, then 2 single crochets. * Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but end with 1 single crochet (24).
Round 5: crochet 2 dc in every 4th stitchthe v (30).
Round 6: Crochet 2. * Crochet 2 into the next single crochet, crochet 4. * Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but end with 2 single crochets (36).
Round 7: Crochet 36 (36).
Round 8: Make 6 decreases. Crochet 2 sc. * Crochet the next 2 sc together, crochet 4 sc*. Repeat *to*, until the end of the round, but end with 2 sc (30).
Round 9: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 4the and 5the v together (24).
Round 10: Crochet 24 (24).
Round 11: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 3the and 4the v together (18).
Rounds 12 through 14: Crochet 18 single crochets in each row (18).
Round 15: Make 6 decreases. Crochet every 2the and 3the sc (12). Stuff your crochet piece firmly with stuffing, but make sure it keeps its shape.
Round 16: Make 6 decreases. Crochet the stitches together 2 at a time (6). Fasten off. Pull the end thread through the last 6 v stitches to close the hole completely. Weave the thread in.


Crochet Pattern: Blue Grape

Start crocheting at the top of the flower.
Crochet with a 2mm Crochet Hook.
Round 1: Using Dark jeans yarn, make a magic ring of 6 sc, or do it this way: Crochet 2 chains. Crochet 6 sc in the first chain. Sl st in the first sc to form a round of 6 sc (6).
Round 2: Crochet into the back loops so that a few small loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12).
Rounds 3 through 10: In this round, crochet only into the back loops, so that a few small loops form on the outside of your rounds. Crochet 12 sc in each round (12).
Round 11: Continue crocheting into the back loops. Crochet 2 single crochets into every 4ththe v (15).
Round 12: Crochet in the back loops only. Crochet 15 (15).
Round 13: Add a little stuffing. Continue crocheting in the back loops.
Make 3 decreases. Crochet every 4the and 5the v together (12).
Round 14: From here on, you'll go back to crocheting double crochet stitches. Change the color to Emerald.
Make 3 decreases. Crochet every 3the and 4the v together (9).
Round 15: Make 3 decreases. Crochet every 2the and 3the v together (6).
Rounds 16 through 30: Crochet 6 single crochets in each row (6).
Round 31: Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12). Fasten off. Leave a long tail on your work so you can use it to secure the flower later.

Finishing the grape
: From the top, attach a new strand of Dark Jeans yarn to the first single loop of Row 2. * Crochet 1 chain into the first stitch, crochet 3 chains, crochet 1 chain into the next stitch*. Repeat from * to * until you have worked all the single loops. Fasten off. Weave in the beginning and ending ends. Now fold a pipe cleaner in half. Twist the two ends together to make a sturdier strand. Insert the pipe cleaner into the stem from below, leaving a small piece sticking out. Secure the flower in the center of the potting soil. Leave the end of the pipe cleaner sticking out of the potting soil, and sew it in place all around row 31 using small stitches.

Leaves
We used four different lengths for the leaves. All the leaves were crocheted with a 2mm Crochet Hook and Grass Green (66).

Leaf 1 (crochet this 3 times in total): Chain 25. Work 24 slip stitches along the chain. Chain 3. Work 1 slip stitch in the first chain to create a nice point. Now work 24 slip stitches back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail attached to the work so you can sew the leaf in place.

Leaf 2 (crochet this 2 times in total): Chain 19. Work 18 slip stitches along the chain. Crochet 3. Crochet a sl st into the first chain to form a neat point. Now crochet 18 sl sts back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail attached to the work so you can sew the leaf in place.

Leaf 3 (crochet this 2 times in total): Chain 29. Now work 28 slip stitches along the chain. Chain 3. Work 1 slip stitch in the first chain to create a nice point. Now work 28 slip stitches back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail attached to the work so you can sew the leaf in place.

Leaf 4 (crochet this 3 times in total): Chain 33. Now work 32 slip stitches along the chain. Chain 3. Work 1 slip stitch in the first chain to create a nice point. Now work 32 slip stitches back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail attached to the work so you can sew the leaf in place. Now attach the leaves to the potting soil around the stem as you see fit. Also attach the leaves to the stem at different heights so they stand up nicely and look like little sprigs.


Tulip Crochet Pattern

Crochet the potting soil according to the pattern.
Round 1: Using a 2mm Crochet Hook, make a magic ring of 6 sc with Fuchsia, or do it this way: Chain 2. Work 6 sc in the first chain. Sl st in the first sc to form a circle of 6 sc (6).
Row 2: hCrochet into the back loops only, so that a few small loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12).
Round 3: crochet 2 dc in every 2the v (18).
Round 4: Crochet this row into the back loops, so that a few loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 18 single crochets (18).
Round 5: From this point on, you’ll crochet back and forth. After each row, chain 1 and turn your work. This chain-1 does not count as a stitch. Crochet 6 single crochets (6).
Rounds 6 and 7: Crochet 6v (6).
Round 8: Crochet 2 single crochets in the first and last single crochet (8).
Round 9: Crochet 8v (8).
Round 10: Crochet the 1ste and 2the and the 7the and 8ste v together (6).
Round 11: Crochet 6v (6).
Round 12: Crochet the 1ste and 2the and the 5the and 6the v together (4).
Round 13: Crochet the 1ste and 2the and the 3the and 4the v together (2).
Round 14: Crochet the last 2 v together. Fasten off.

Now attach a new strand of Fuchsia yarn next to the crocheted leaf on row 4. Repeat rows 5 through 14 to make the second leaf. Fasten off along the 2the Attach a new strand of Fuchsia yarn to the leaf on row 4. Repeat rows 5 through 14 once more for the third leaf.

You now have three leaves. Fold them upward with the tips touching, and secure them just below the tips with a few single crochets. Make sure the tips remain nicely separated from each other. When folding inward, be careful to keep the outer loops of rows 2 and 4 on the outside of the work. Now, halfway down a leaf, attach a new strand of Fuchsia yarn to the outer loops of row 4. Insert your Crochet Hook into the loops, starting from row 1. Repeat rows 5 through 14. Crochet 2 more leaves in this way on the outer loops of row 4. Now fold the leaves upward. Now single crochet the sides of rows 5 through 9 of the leaves together. Neatly weave in all loose ends.

Stem
:
Now attach a new strand of Grass Green yarn to the outer loops of Row 2. Insert the Crochet Hook into the loops, as seen from the flowers.

Rounds 1 through 20: Crochet 6 single crochets in each row (6).
Round 21: Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12). Fasten off. Now fold a pipe cleaner in half. Twist the two strands together to make a sturdier thread. Insert the pipe cleaner into the stem from the bottom, leaving a small piece sticking out. Now secure the flower in the center of the potting soil. Leave the end of the pipe cleaner sticking out of the potting soil, and sew it in place around row 21 with small stitches.

Leaves
:
Crochet a total of 2 leaves using Grass Green yarn and a 2mm Crochet Hook.

Leaf 1:
Crochet a chain of 27. Crochet 25 half double crochets along the chain. In the last chain, crochet 1 half double crochet, 2 chain stitches, 1 half double crochet. On the other side of the chain, crochet 25 half double crochets. Chain 1. Turn your work.
Now crochet 26 times. Around the 2-chain space at the tip, crochet 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet. Crochet 26 single crochets back along the other side. Fasten off, leaving a tail attached to your work so you can sew the leaf in place.

Attach the leaf to the potting soil near the stem and fold it around the stem. Single crochet it in place at various points around the stem. Let the top part curl outward.

Page 2:
Chain 33. Crochet 31 half double crochets along the chain. In the last chain, crochet 1 half double crochet, 2 chain stitches, 1 half double crochet. On the other side of the chain, crochet 31 half double crochets. Chain 1. Turn your work.

Now crochet 32 single crochets. Around every 2 chain stitches at the tip, crochet 1 half double crochet, 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet. Crochet 32 single crochets back along the other side. Fasten off, leaving a tail attached to your work so you can sew the leaf in place.

Attach the leaf near the stem to the potting soil on the opposite side of the first leaf, and fold it around the stem and the other leaf. Single crochet it in place with small stitches at various points around the stem and the other leaf. Let the top part curl outward.


Daffodil Crochet Pattern


Crochet the potting soil according to the pattern.

Round
1: Using a 2mm Crochet Hook and Banana yarn, make a magic ring of 6 sc, or follow these instructions: Chain 2. Crochet 6 sc in the first chain. Sl st in the first sc to form a circle of 6 sc (6).
Row 2: Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12).
Row 3: Crochet 12 single crochets (12).
Row 4: Crochet 2 dc in every 3rd dc (16).
Rows 5 and 6: Crochet 16 single crochets in each row (16).
Row 7: Now crochet 1 sl st in the first stitch. Crochet 3 chs. Crochet 1 sc in the first ch. Crochet 1 sl st in the first stitch. Crochet 1 sl st in the 2nd stitch*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row. Fasten off. Neatly weave in all ends.

Center of the Flower
:
Using Banana, crochet 6 chains. Crochet 5 slip stitches back along the chain. Now crochet 4 chains immediately. Crochet 3 slip stitches back. Now crochet 6 chains again and crochet 5 slip stitches back along the chain. Fasten off. Fold the bottom part together and sew it securely to the inside of the calyx using small stitches.

Petals

Round 1: Using a 2mm Crochet Hook, make a magic ring of 6 sc with Banana yarn, or do it this way: Chain 2. Work 6 sc in the first chain. Sl st in the first sc to form a circle of 6 sc (6).
Round 2: Crochet into the back loops so that a few small loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12).
Round 3: crochet 2 dc in every 2the v (18).
Round 4: Crochet this row into the back loops, so that a few loops form on the outside of your work. Crochet 18 single crochets (18).
Round 5: From this point on, you’ll crochet back and forth. After each row, chain 1 and turn your work. This chain-1 does not count as a stitch. Crochet 6 single crochets (6).
Rounds 6 and 7: Crochet 6 single crochets in each row (6).
Round 8: Crochet the 1ste and 2the and the 5the and 6the v together (4).
Round 9: Crochet 4 (4).
Round 10: Crochet the 1ste and 2the and the 3the and 4the v together (2).
Round 11: Crochet the last 2 v together (1). Fasten off. Weave in the ends neatly.
Now attach a new strand of Banana yarn along the first leaf on row 4. Repeat rows 5 through 11 for the second leaf. Attach a new strand of Banana yarn along the second leaf and repeat rows 5 through 11 again for the third leaf.

Now attach a new strand of Banana yarn to the outermost loops of row 4. Insert your Crochet Hook into the loops, starting from row 1. Let the first leaf drop halfway down an already crocheted leaf. Repeat rows 5 through 11. Crochet 2 more leaves this way on the outermost loops of row 4.

Tuck all the threads away neatly. Now single crochet the little cup in the center of the flower. Make sure the outer loops remain on the underside of the flower.

Steeltje
:
Attach a new strand of Grass Green yarn to the outer loops of row 2 on the underside of the flower.

Rounds 1 through 25: Crochet 6 single crochets in each row (6).
Round 26: Crochet 2 single crochets in each single crochet (12). Fasten off. Now fold a pipe cleaner in half. Twist the ends together to make a sturdier strand.
Insert the pipe cleaner into the stem from the bottom, leaving a small piece sticking out.
Now secure the flower in the center of the potting soil. Leave the end of the pipe cleaner sticking out of the potting soil, and single crochet it in place all around row 26 with small stitches.

Leaves
Crocheted with Grass Green—3 leaves in total.

Leaf 1: Crochet a chain of 24 stitches. Crochet 22 single crochets along the chain. In the last chain stitch, crochet 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, and 1 single crochet. Crochet 22 single crochets back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail so you can sew the leaf in place.

Leaf 2: Crochet a chain of 29. Crochet 27 single crochets along the chain. In the last chain stitch, crochet 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, and 1 single crochet. Crochet 27 single crochets back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail so you can sew the leaf in place.

Leaf 3: Crochet a chain of 21 stitches. Crochet 19 single crochets along the chain. In the last chain stitch, crochet 1 single crochet, 1 half double crochet, and 1 single crochet. Crochet 19 single crochets back along the other side of the chain. Fasten off. Leave a long tail so you can sew the leaf in place.

Sew the leaves to the potting soil around the stem using a small stitch. Also, sew each leaf halfway along its length to the stem with a small stitch, so that the top part of the leaf curves down nicely.
