Crocheting a Shawl - The shawl is perhaps the most versatile piece of clothing. You can wear it as a scarf, wrap it comfortably around yourself, and add a little extra flair to any outfit. This shawl is crocheted with a beautiful Rainbow-colored yarn; the yarn itself creates the effect! Read on for the free pattern.
Saskia crocheted this shawl using the beautiful Katia Top Rainbow gradient yarn. This cotton-acrylic blend consists of 4 strands that change color one by one. The gradual color transitions give your project a beautiful Rainbow look. Top Rainbow is no longer part of our collection, but it can easily be replaced with Durable Colour Cake. Let the gorgeous colors inspire you!
The scarf is crocheted in an airy pattern with lots of chain stitches and arcs. You can repeat the pattern as many times as you like. For a small scarf, decrease rounds; for a larger scarf, crochet more. For a neat finish, crochet a closed round as the last round (like Round 8).
What do you need to crochet the shawl?
- 1 ball of Katia Top Rainbow, color 82. Katia Top Rainbow is no longer available. Use a substitute yarn such as Durable Color Cake.
- 6 mm Crochet Hook
