Stiffening
Crochet Work We'll show you how to stiffen crochet work using photos of the red bowl.
1. The crocheted bowl is finished.
2. Make a mixture of Rico fabric glue or wood glue and water. Use equal parts of each (i.e., as much glue as water). Stir it well. Dip your crocheted piece completely into the mixture.
3. Cover the dish with plastic wrap; this will keep the dish looking nice and prevent the crocheted piece from sticking to it once it's dry.
4. Gently wring out the crocheted piece and carefully place it over the bowl. It’s important to position the center of the crocheted piece right in the center of the bowl; otherwise, the bowl will end up crooked. Let it dry for at least one day, then carefully remove it. Let it dry thoroughly for at least one more day, and you’re done!
