What is the Celtic weave stitch?

If we had to describe the Celtic Weave Stitch in one word, we’d choose “rugged.” The Celtic Weave Stitch is a chunky stitch where you crochet double relief double crochets on top of each other. This creates a woven texture that’s somewhat reminiscent of knitting cables. If you want to crochet an eye-catching central panel in, say, a Blanket, the Celtic Weave Stitch is perfect for that. Dream Blanket 2.0 is a great example of this. Of course, you can also use the Celtic weave stitch for your entire project to crochet a decorative pillow or a cowl. It’s important to crochet with chain stitches for a supple result and to keep in mind that using the Celtic weave stitch will make your project a bit thicker because the double crochets overlap.
