Crochet Pattern: Super Charming Baby Blanket

Using a 6mm Crochet Hook and color 95 (Soft Grey), chain 100 stitches. Now continue crocheting with a 5.5mm Crochet Hook. By starting your chain with a half-size larger hook, your blanket will stay nice and straight. You’ll crochet back and forth. After each row, chain 1 and turn your work. This turning chain does not count as a stitch.

Row 1: Crochet into the first ch. from the Crochet Hook *1 sc, 1 hdc, skip 1 ch*. Now repeat from * to * until the end of the chain, but finish with 1 sc in the last ch.
Row 2: *Chain 1, 1 half double crochet in the first single crochet. Skip 1 half double crochet*. Now repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but end with 1 single crochet in the last single crochet.

You will now repeat Row 2 over and over. For the blanket, we used the following color and row pattern:
11 turns of Soft Grey
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns of Birch
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns of Limestone
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns, Taupe
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns of Soft Grey
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns of Birch
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns of Limestone
2 rounds of Mustard
11 turns, Taupe

After the last round of Taupe, do not fasten off; instead, crochet 1 round of 1 single crochet in each stitch. Fasten off. Neatly weave in all loose ends.

The border: The border is crocheted in 4 steps. Start at the side of your blanket. Using a 5.5 mm Crochet Hook, join a new strand of mustard-colored yarn and crochet along the edge as desired. Make sure you end up with an odd number of stitches. Now crochet 4 rounds following the same pattern as in Round 2 of the blanket. Fasten off. Weave in the ends neatly. Repeat on the other side of the blanket. Now attach a new strand of mustard yarn at a corner on the bottom edge of the blanket and crochet a row here as desired. Make sure you end up with an odd number of stitches. Crochet 4 rounds following the same pattern as Round 2 of the blanket. Fasten off. Neatly weave in the ends. Now do the same on the top edge of the blanket. After your last round, do not fasten off, but continue crocheting with a 4.5 mm Crochet Hook. Now crochet a round of single crochet all the way around the blanket. At each corner, chain 1 to create a nice corner.

- Panda Filling
- 2 rattle beads, 24 mm

Dimensions: approximately 14 cm in diameter

Annemarie crocheted a cute ball using the leftover yarn from the Super Charming baby blanket. Use a 3.5 mm Crochet Hook or smaller. The idea is to crochet the stitches so tightly that no stuffing is visible.
