Saskia Laan designs a cheerful checkered bag that you can use for just about anything. It’s super handy—and you can never have too many bags, right? She opts for a sturdy design with a fun checkered pattern. The checks alternate between open and closed sections and are crocheted from Lana Grossa Cotton Mix 130. Sew (by hand or with a sewing machine) a small piece of fabric to the back of your crochet piece. Fold it in half so that the print is visible on both the inside and the outside.
Sew the bag bottom to both the crocheted piece and the fabric. Sew about 2 cm from the edge of the bottom on the crocheted piece.
Sew the handles to both the crocheted piece and the fabric using Sewing Thread.
Tassels:
Using leftover Cotton yarn, crochet 30, 25, 20, 15, or 10 chain stitches, and close the chain with a slip stitch in the first stitch. Attach them to the top of the bag.
