Crocheting a Bag - A beautiful bag is the perfect accessory to complete your outfit. And how fun is it to make one yourself? This design by Saskia Laan is totally trendy and roomy enough for all your belongings. Read on for the free pattern and get started!

Saskia Laan designs a cheerful checkered bag that you can use for just about anything. It’s super handy—and you can never have too many bags, right? She opts for a sturdy design with a fun checkered pattern. The checks alternate between open and closed sections and are crocheted from Lana Grossa Cotton Mix 130. The Prym bag bottom and handles make it extra sturdy, and the cotton fabric lining really ties it all together! Will this be your new showstopper?

Fun fact:
- The turning and starting chains in this project do not count as stitches; they are only there to create height.

Finish:

Sew (by hand or with a sewing machine) a small piece of fabric to the back of your crochet piece. Fold it in half so that the print is visible on both the inside and the outside.
Sew the bag bottom to both the crocheted piece and the fabric. Sew about 2 cm from the edge of the bottom on the crocheted piece.
Sew the handles to both the crocheted piece and the fabric using Sewing Thread.

Tassels:

Using leftover Cotton yarn, crochet 30, 25, 20, 15, or 10 chain stitches, and close the chain with a slip stitch in the first stitch. Attach them to the top of the bag.
