Crocheting Tunisian Entrelac with a crochet hook

Crochet Pattern for an entrelac cushion:

Crochet a chain of 69 chain stitches.

You start your round with 1 half square (triangle), then crochet 5 squares, and finish with another half square. (The first round is shaded in the diagram.)
Insert your Crochet Hook into the second chain stitch from the hook. Yarn over and pull through the chain stitch; you now have two loops on your Crochet Hook. Yarn over and pull through both loops on your Crochet Hook.
Now insert your Crochet Hook under the first vertical loop (where your yarn does NOT come out), make a yarn over, and pull the yarn over through the loop. Insert your Crochet Hook into the next chain stitch. Make a yarn over and pull it through the chain stitch, so that you now have three loops on your Crochet Hook.
Yarn over and pull through two loops on your Crochet Hook; yarn over again and pull through the last two loops on your Crochet Hook so that you have one loop left on your Crochet Hook.

Now insert your Crochet Hook under the first vertical loop again. Make a yarn over and pull the yarn over through the stitch. Now insert your Crochet Hook through your work behind the same vertical loop, make a yarn over, and pull through. Insert your Crochet Hook into the next chain stitch of the chain. Yarn over and pull through. You now have a total of 4 loops on your Crochet Hook.

Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.

You're going to pick up the stitches again now.
Insert your Crochet Hook under the first vertical loop. Make a yarn over and pull through the loop. Insert your Crochet Hook under the next vertical line and pull through the loop. Insert your Crochet Hook through your work behind the vertical line. Make a yarn over and pull through. Insert your Crochet Hook through the next chain stitches of your chain. Yarn over and pull through. You now have a total of 5 loops on your Crochet Hook.

Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.

Repeat the above rows until you have a total of seven loops on your Crochet Hook; at that point, your triangle will have reached the correct height. Your triangle will then be 5 vertical stripes high.

To start crocheting the first square, make a loose chain stitch. Don't make it too tight, because you'll need to be able to insert the hook easily into it for your New round.

*Insert your Crochet Hook under the vertical loop, make a yarn over, and immediately pull it through (yo) the loop on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat this until you reach the first new chain stitch in your chain.
You'll now start crocheting the first square from here.

Insert your Crochet Hook into the next chain stitches, yarn over, and pull through. Repeat this until you have a total of 7 loops on your Crochet Hook.

**Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.

You have now made a total of 5 vertical stripes. Now pick up the stitches again by making a yarn over under each stripe; you will then have 6 loops on your Crochet Hook. Insert your Crochet Hook into the next chain stitches on your hook, make a yarn over, and pull through the stitch so that you have a total of 7 loops on your Crochet Hook.

Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.**

Repeat **until** your square is 5 vertical stripes high, then crochet back to your square to return to the chain and start a new square.

Crochet a total of five full squares.

Finally, crochet a small triangle. Chain 7 stitches onto your Crochet Hook.
Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.

***Now pick up the loops on the Crochet Hook again, but skip the last one, so that you have 6 loops on your Crochet Hook. Make *a yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your Crochet Hook*. Repeat *to*, until you have only 1 loop left on your Crochet Hook.***

Repeat ***to*** until you have only 2 loops left.
End with "hv."

Crochet two identical pieces.

Finish:

Tuck the threads away neatly.

Using Mustard, crochet a round of single crochet around the square pieces. Crochet 3 double crochets at the corners.
