But what about those three weights—what exactly is the difference?

The main difference between the yarns is their thickness. The names give you a clue: Phil Coton 4 is suitable for size 4 needles, Coton 3 is suitable for size 3 needles, and Coton 2 is suitable for size 2 needles. Of course, the needle sizes are just a guideline, because it all depends on the project you’re working on!
One great thing about these yarns is that you can combine them really well. Since they share the same color palette, it’s easy to mix thick and thin strands, which makes putting together a set even more fun! Plus, you can crochet the same pattern with different yarns to create the same figure in a different size. It’s super fun to make a family of birds, for example!
