Yarn and Colors X Amigurumi = Double the Haakpret
You probably noticed last year that Yarn and Colors launched their first lookbook full of Amigurumi. In Lookbook #16, “Zoo Animals,” five friends from the zoo melted our hearts. Part 2 followed soon after: Lookbook #21, “On The Farm,” in which Farmer Freddy and Farmer Francine introduced us to their crocheted livestock.
And you know what they say: all good things come in threes! Hot off the digital press is Lookbook #27: Forest Animals. Once again, it’s a digital crochet book full of adorable cuddly toys, and once again it was designed by Margreet, known on Instagram as @knotjeknus. This time, she was joined by two members of the Yarn and Colors family: Pleun (@studiowoordendraad) and Manon (@petit_petite_nl). Each designer crocheted two forest animals, and they can’t wait to show them to you!
Crocheting Cuddly Toys with Lookbook #27 from Yarn and Colors
Lookbook #27: Forest Animals features no fewer than six Crochet Patterns for adorable forest animals. They make a super cute and personal gift for a baby’s birth or a child’s Birthday. But we totally understand if you just want to keep these Amigurumi for yourself.
What makes the cuddly toys in Lookbook #27 unique is that you crochet most of them using two strands of yarn. In addition to the lovely Yarn and Colors Must-have Crochet Cotton, you’ll also use Yarn and Colors Elegant. It’s a very fine, fuzzy yarn made of mohair (25%), wool (25%), and Acrylic (50%) that gives the cuddly toys a real fur-like texture. If you’re allergic to wool, you can, of course, crochet the cuddly toys using only Must-have.
Another big advantage of these crocheted Cuddly Toys is that you don’t sew the arms, legs, and any tail to the body—you crochet them on. Perfect for anyone who’d rather hold a Crochet Hook than a darning needle!
The Stars of Lookbook #27: Forest Animals
Boris Boar
The toughest guy in the forest and the star of Lookbook #27 is Boris Boar. But don’t let his tough appearance fool you—deep down, he’s super soft and cuddly. The crochet pattern for this boar is rated easy to medium in difficulty, so even as a beginner, you can crochet this unique Amigurumi. The Crochet Kit is available in two different color schemes. If you’d rather work with a different color, order the standalone Boris Boar Crochet Pattern.

Donna Deer
The sweetest girl in the Forest Animals gang is named Donna Deer. With her fluffy belly, perky antlers, and signature white spots on her head, this crocheted deer is sure to win over many hearts. Can you already picture the smile on your (grand)child’s face as he or she dashes around the room with this little crocheted deer? The Crochet Kit is available in two different color schemes. Or buy the standalone Crochet Pattern and choose Donna Deer’s colors yourself.

Max Mole
Yay! Max peeks out just above the forest floor. With his cute pink snout and distinctive hands and nails, Max Mole is a real must-make. If you don’t have much experience crocheting Amigurumi yet, Max is the perfect project for you. We can’t promise you won’t want to crochet all the other forest friends afterward, though… Max Mole is also available as a standalone pattern and as a Crochet Kit, with a choice of two different colors.

Rosie Rabbit
Nothing is as irresistible as a cuddly rabbit! Especially when it feels as soft and fluffy as Rosie Rabbit. In this design, the fuzzy Yarn and Colors Elegant yarn not only creates a fluffy look and an extra-soft feel, but also a mottled effect because two different colors of yarn are used. A fun detail is that you can attach one ear of this crocheted rabbit at an angle, making it look like Rosie is listening to a sound. To crochet this rabbit, you can purchase the yarn and pattern separately or make it easy on yourself and choose one of the two Crochet Kits.

Sal Squirrel
Of course, Sal Squirrel is a must-have in a book full of crocheted forest animals. Pointed ears, mischievous beady eyes, and a fluffy tail—this crocheted squirrel has it all. Crochet enthusiasts of all skill levels can get started on this cuddly toy. So shop for the Crochet Kit in your favorite color or buy the pattern separately and crochet this squirrel in your favorite colors or those of your (grand)child.

William Wolf / Faye Fox
Crochet Patterns for both William Wolf and Faye Fox use the same instructions. By playing with color, you can crochet both a cute fox and a tough wolf. Isn’t that great? You can buy the William Wolf and Faye Fox Crochet Kit in our online store and physical store. Or order the Crochet Pattern separately and choose your own yarn and colors.
