Crocheting a Pocket onto a T-Shirt - Sometimes you have clothes in your closet that you don’t really wear anymore. It’s time to give them a new twist and start wearing them again. Especially for knitters and crocheters, here are some patterns to get you started on your DIY projects. We got to work with Rico Crochet, a thin but beautiful yarn. We’ve completely fallen in love with it. It’s a joy to crochet with, and you can really make the most beautiful things with it.

What do you need?
Materials: 1 ball of Rico Essentials Crochet yarn and a size 1.75 Crochet Hook
Stitches used: chain stitches = ch., single crochets = sc., treble crochets = dc., half double crochet = hdc.
"Crochet a Pocket on a Shirt" Pattern: Heart

Start with 44 l.
Round 1: Insert your Crochet Hook into the 8th ch. from your Crochet Hook and make a stitch, *2 ch., skip 2 ch., 1 stitch*; repeat from * to * until the end.
2nd row: 5 ch, 2 sts skipped, 1 st, *2 ch, 2 sts skipped, 1 st*; repeat *-* 4 times. Now crochet 2 sts into the opening, 1 st into the next st; repeat *-* 6 times.
3rd row: 5 ch., skip 2 sts, 1 st. *2 ch., skip 2 sts, 1 st. * repeat *-* 3 times. 2 sts in the opening, 4 sts, 2 sts in the opening, 1 st in the next st., repeat *-* 5 times.
4th row: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st. * repeat *-* 2 times. 2 st. in the opening, 4 st., repeat *-* 1 time. 3 sts, 2 sts in the opening, 1 st, repeat *-* 4 times.
Round 5: 5 ch., skip 2 sts., 1 st. * 2 ch., skip 2 sts., 1 st.* Repeat *-* once. 2 sts. in the opening, 4 sts., repeat *-* 3 times. 3 sts, 2 sts in the opening, 1 st in the next st, repeat *-* 3 times.

9th row: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk., 6 stk. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk.* repeat *-* 6 times. 6 stk., repeat *-* 1 time.
Row 10: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st., 6 st. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st.* Repeat *-* 2 times. 2 sts in the opening, 1 st in the next st, repeat *-* 3 times. 6 sts, repeat *-* 1 time.
Round 11: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st., 6 st., 2 st. in opening, 1 st. in next st. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st.* 2 sts in opening, 1 st in next st, 3 sts, 2 sts in opening, 1 st in next st, repeat *-* 1 time. 2 sts in opening, 7 sts, repeat *-* 1 time.
Row 12: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st., 9 st., 2 st. in opening, 4 st. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 st. in next st.* 3 st., 2 st. in opening, 10 st., repeat *-* 1 time.
Round 13: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk.* 12 stk., repeat *-* 1 time. 12 stk., repeat *-* 2 times.
Row 14: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk.* repeat *-* 1 time. 6 stk., repeat *-* 3 times. 6 stk., repeat *-* 3 times.
Row 15: 5 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk. *2 ch., 2 st. skip, 1 stk.* Repeat *-* to the end.
Now crochet a border around the bag using single crochet (sc). At the end of row 15, chain 2—this is your first sc—then crochet 2 sc in each opening, and 1 sc between them. At the corners, crochet 3 sc. Once you’ve worked along 3 sides and have completed your last sc, we’ll crochet a border along the top using double crochet (dc). Start with 3 ch; this is your first double treble. Continue crocheting double trebles until the end.
Sew the pouch onto your T-shirt using a running stitch.
Border at the bottom of the T-shirt
: Create a border at the bottom of your T-shirt using the blanket stitch. This will give your shirt a super cute edge! The distance between the stitches is just under 1 cm. Continue this all the way around.
Attach a strand of yarn to a loop and crochet 2; this is your first single crochet. Now crochet 1 more single crochet in the same loop. Crochet 2 single crochets in each loop. Join with a slip stitch in the top chain where you started.
Chain 1, skip 1 st., work 5 sts. in the next st., *skip 1 st., 1 sc. in the next st., skip 1 st., work 5 sts. in the next st.* Repeat from * to * until the end.
"Crochet a Pocket on a Shirt" Pattern: Stripes

Cluster of 3 sts over 3 sts: Make a double yarn over, stitch the hook into the first st and pick up the yarn, wrap the yarn around the Crochet Hook, and pull 2x 2 loops off your Crochet Hook = 2 loops on your Crochet Hook. Yarn over twice and insert the hook into the next stitch, pull up a loop, then pull 2x 2 loops off your Crochet Hook = 3 loops on your Crochet Hook. Make a double yarn over and insert the hook into the last stitch, pull up a loop, then pull 2x 2 loops off your Crochet Hook = 4 loops on your Crochet Hook. Yarn over and slip all 4 loops off the Crochet Hook at once.
In this pattern, you crochet 2 rounds with one color each time. Then you switch colors.
Start with 32 l.
Row 1: Single crochet in the 2nd chain from your Crochet Hook, then single crochet 30 more times. Turn.
Row 2: 1 ch., 1 sc in first st., * 1 hdc in next st., 1 dc in next st., 3 tr in next st., 1 dc in next st., 1 hdc in next st., 1 sc in next st., * repeat from * to * until the end. Turn.
Round 3: 1 ch., 2 sc together over the first 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, *3 sc in the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 3 sc together across the next 3 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts,* repeat from * to the last 5 sts, 3 sc in the next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc together across the last 2 sts. Turn.
Row 4: Repeat Row 3.
Round 5: 4 ch. (= first double crochet), 1 double crochet in next stitch (counts as the first 2 double crochets combined), 1 single crochet in next stitch, 1 half double crochet in next stitch, 1 single crochet in next stitch, 1 half double crochet in next stitch, 1 single crochet in next stitch, 1 half double crochet in next stitch, 1 single crochet in next stitch, 1 cluster of double crochets across the next 3 stitches, 1 double crochet in the next stitch, 1 half double crochet in the next stitch, 1 single crochet in the next stitch, 1 half double crochet in the next stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch* repeat from * to *, end with 2 double crochets worked together across the last 2 stitches. Turn.
Row 6: 1 ch., 1 dc in each st. = 31 dc. Turn.
Row 7: Repeat Row 6.
Repeat rows 2 through 7. The pouch has a total of 26 rows.
