Stitches used:
l. = chain stitch
v. = single crochet
pcs. = double crochets
Treble crochet = double crochet
Triple stitch = triple double crochet
Increase of 2 =
Begin the row with 4 sts. Then work 2 double crochets together 2 times in 1 stitch from the previous row; at the end of the row, work 2 double crochets together 2 times in 1 stitch from the previous row, and finish with 1 double crochet.
Increase of 3 =
Start the row with 5 ch., then work 3 sets of 2 sts into 1 st from the previous row; at the end of the row, work 3 sets of 2 sts into 1 st from the previous row, and finish with 1 triple st.
Always make a gauge swatch:
10 x 10 cm = 24 pieces and 15 rows
Crochet Pattern for a Summer Top:
Back panel
Start with the top.
Crochet a base chain of A) 103 - B) 111 - C) 119 - D) 129 - E) 143 ch. using a size 3 Crochet Hook. Crochet only single crochet stitches.
When the total height reaches 8.5 cm (13 rounds), continue crocheting the center section as follows:
A) 9 - B) 13 - C) 17 - D) 22 - E) 29 pieces, the 85 stitches of the middle section (see also the stitch chart), and A) 9 - B) 13 - C) 17 - D) 22 - E) 29 pieces.
Bind off when the work measures 30 cm (45 rows) in total height.

Front
Start with the top.
Chain 2 using a size 3 Crochet Hook, and work the first round of the cup as follows: 5 ch as the first triple double crochet, and 3 double crochets in the first chain; then, in the second chain: 3 double crochets; finish with 1 triple double crochet. You will have 8 stitches on this first round.
Next, crochet all stitches and increase on every row on the right side (neck side):
A) B) C) increase 1x3 sts and 9x2 sts
D) E) increase 2x3 sts and 8x2 sts
Left side (armhole side):
A) increase 6x3 sts and 2x2 sts
B) increase 6x3 sts and 4x2 sts

Crochet the other cup as a mirror image.
NOTE: By the 12th round, when the total height is reached, join the two cups together and insert one piece between them. When the cups are finished, you will have A) 103 - B) 111 - C) 119 - D) 129 - E) 143 pieces.
At A) 14.5 cm (22 rows) B) 15.5 cm (24 rows) C) 16.5 cm (25 rows) D) 17.5 cm (27 rows) E) 18.5 cm (28 rows) total height, continue crocheting the middle section (follow the count pattern).
Finish the piece when it measures A) 36 cm (54 rows) B) 37 cm (56 rows) C) 38 cm (57 rows) D) 39 cm (59 rows) E) 40 cm (60 rows) in total height.
Finishing
Close the seams. Make the shoulder straps as follows: crochet 110 stitches. Work 1 round of single crochet, then fasten off. Make a second shoulder strap. Sew the shoulder straps to the end of each cup.
Crochet around the neckline and along one side of the shoulder straps: 1 row of single crochets. Do the same around the armholes, along the other side of the shoulder straps, and along the top of the back panel. Cross the shoulder straps and sew them to the back panel 10 cm apart.
