Phildar Phil Cabotine yarn is used for the summery Cabotine top. This yarn is soft, easy to care for, and ideal for summer crochet or knitting projects. The yarn is a mix of 45% Acrylic and 55% Cotton. The summery colors piscine, sable, outremer, azur, oeillet, sorbet, and peau were used for this top. Of course, you can also choose other color combinations. We’d love to inspire you with various color combinations. Below you’ll see other color combinations you can use; we don’t offer standard Kits for these. For the color Sable (07), you’ll always need 4 (sizes 34/36–42/44) or 5 (sizes 46/48–50/52) Balls. For the other colors, you’ll need 1 Ball per color.

Crochet Pattern for a Summery Cabotine Top
Sizes: a) 34/36 - b) 38/40 - c) 42/44 - d) 46/48 - e) 50/52
Tools & Supplies:
4mm Crochet Hook
a) 4 - b) 4 - c) 4 - d) 5 - e) 5 balls of Phildar Phil Cabotine in the color Sable (the number of balls depends on your size).
1 ball of Phildar Phil Cabotine in the colors Piscine, Outremer, Azure, Bengale, Sorbet, and Peau (for all sizes)
Stitches used:
l = Chain stitch
v = Single Crochet
dst = Treble crochet
Single crochet: insert the Crochet Hook into 1 st., pick up 1 loop, make 1 yarn over, and pull the yarn through the 2 loops on the Crochet Hook.
Treble crochet: chain 2, insert the Crochet Hook into 1 st., pick up 1 loop, *chain 1, pull the yarn through 2 loops*, repeat from *to* 2 times in total, chain 1, pull the yarn through the 2 loops on the Crochet Hook.
Stripe pattern:
*1 round of Piscine - 1 round of Sable - 1 round of Outremer - 1 round of Sable - 1 round of Azur - 1 round of Sable - 1 round of Bengale - 1 round of Sable - 1 round of Sorbet - 1 round of Sable - 1 round of Peau - 1 round of Sable*
Repeat from * to * (12 rows total)
1 increase = 2 treble crochets in the same stitch.
Gauge swatches:
10 cm of double crochets with a size 4 Crochet Hook = 14 sts and 6 rows.
10 cm of single crochets with size 4 Crochet Hook = 14 sts.
Note: For each section, make a flexible chain by crocheting it loosely, or use a Crochet Hook that is half a size larger so that your work doesn't pull.
Back Panel
: Make a chain of a) 72 sts, b) 76 sts, c) 82 sts, d) 88 sts, e) 96 sts using color Sable and a size 4 Crochet Hook, and work single crochets (see stitch guide) for 2 cm (3 rounds).
Continue crocheting with double crochets in the striped pattern (see stitches used) using a size 4 Crochet Hook.
When the piece measures a) b) 31 cm (19 rows), c) 33 cm (20 rows), d) e) 31 cm (19 rows) from the single crochets, mark the edge stitches with a Stitch Marker or colored thread (to indicate the armholes).
When the piece measures a) b) 48.5 cm (29 rows) and c) d) e) 52 cm (31 rows) from the single crochet, bind off the center stitches for the neckline: a) b) c) 32 sts., d) e) 34 sts., and then continue crocheting each section separately.
There are: a) 20 sts, b) 22 sts, c) 25 sts, d) 27 sts, e) 31 sts (for the shoulder).
When the height measures a) b) 52 cm (31 rows), c) d) e) 55.5 cm (33 rows) from the single crochets, continue crocheting with color Sable in single crochets for 2 cm (3 rows).
Next, finish the piece and complete the other side of the neckline in the same way.
Crochet the
front piece in the same way as the back piece until you reach the armholes.
At a) b) 45 cm (27 rows) – c) d) e) 48.5 cm (29 rows) in height after single crochets, decrease the center section for the neckline: a) b) c) 32 sts. – d) e) 34 sts., and then continue crocheting each shoulder section separately.
There are: a) 20 sts, b) 22 sts, c) 25 sts, d) 27 sts, e) 31 sts (for the shoulder).
When the height measures a) b) 52 cm (31 rows), c) d) e) 55.5 cm (33 rows) from the single crochets, continue crocheting with the Sable color in single crochets for 2 cm (3 rows).
Next, finish the piece and complete the other side of the neckline in the same way.
Sleeves:
Make a base chain of a) 58 sts, b) 58 sts, c) 60 sts, d) 66 sts, e) 66 sts using color Sable, a size 4 Crochet Hook, and single crochets (see stitches used) for 2 cm (3 rounds).
Continue crocheting in double crochets in a striped pattern (see stitches used) and increase on both sides: a) b) every 2 rounds: 3 x 1 st., c) d) e) every 2 rounds: 2 x 1 st., and in every round: 2 x 1 st. You now have: a) 64 st., b) 64 st., c) 68 sts., d) 74 sts., e) 74 sts.
When the piece measures 11 cm (7 single crochets) from the slip stitches, bind off.
Crochet a second sleeve that is the same as the first one.
Finishing and Assembly
Neck Front and Back
: Reattach to the a) b) c) 32 sts., d) e) 34 sts. of the neck using the color Sable and a size 4 Crochet Hook, and work in single crochets for 2 cm (3 rounds).
Finish the work after this.
Do the same for the neckline on the front piece.
Sides and Neck
: Make a base chain of 17 sts using Sable yarn and a size 4 Crochet Hook, and work single crochets for 2 cm (3 rounds).
Finish the piece as described below. Crochet a second trim strip just like this one.
Sew the sleeves between the Stitch Markers or colored thread.
Close the side seams and the bottom of the sleeve seams. Sew the neckline facing (on the side).
