This involves working with single crochets and double crochets, primarily in the back loops. The double crochets are worked into the front loops of the rows below, creating the distinctive mosaic pattern on the surface of the crochet piece.

Since you crochet the blanket starting from the center, you don’t have to cut the yarn after every row. You switch colors at single crochet points and watch the pattern gradually take shape as you crochet.

For this version of the Fleur blanket, choose from the Moss and Dawn color schemes. Both variations are made with Yarn and Colors Joy. This is a customizable Crochet Kit, so you can adjust each yarn color individually. Choose Moss, put together the Dawn color scheme, or create your very own color combination.

What colors can you choose for the Fleur blanket?

The pattern includes two sample color schemes crocheted with Yarn and Colors Joy. Each color scheme consists of 4 background colors and 1 contrasting pattern color. For the first background color, you’ll need 1 ball; for the second color, 2 balls; for the third color, 3 balls; and for the fourth color, 4 balls. You’ll need 9 balls of the contrasting color.

• Moss: 1 ball of Aventurine, 2 balls of Eucalyptus, 3 balls of Jade Gravel, and 4 balls of Glass. Contrasting color: 9 balls of Graphite.
• Dawn: 1 ball of Limestone, 2 balls of Curry, 3 balls of Chestnut, and 4 balls of Rosé. Contrasting color: 9 balls of Shark Grey.

You don’t have to stick to these sample combinations. Since this is a customizable kit, you can adjust each color individually. This way, you can put together Moss or Dawn, or create a completely new color combination of your own.

What crochet technique do you use for the Fleur blanket?

The Fleur blanket is crocheted using the overlay mosaic technique. You’ll mainly use single crochets and double crochets. The single crochets are primarily worked into the back loops. To create the mosaic pattern, you’ll crochet double crochets into the front loops of the rows below. These stitches will sit on top of the work and together form the pattern.
