It uses the overlay mosaic technique, which involves working with double crochets and single crochets, primarily in the back loop. With this blanket, you don’t have to cut the yarn after every round because you work from the center and only change colors at specific points. To create the mosaic pattern, you crochet double crochets into the front loops of the underlying rounds. Because these loops lie on top of the work, this method is called overlay crochet.
