Cozy Chicken Family - Easter is around the corner and therefore we are introducing this year's very first Easter project! What is more lovely than decorating your house for the Easter holidays? Besides eggs, bunnies and lots of chocolate, a cozy chicken family completes the picture. Therefore we are expanding our Easter collection with these 2 chickens and their cuddly offspring. It is about time we are adding new family members to our Easter collection, besides the popular Easter bunnies. The thick and thin chicken and their offspring are a great addition! They are cute as decorations for your Easter table, but aren't they also gorgeous to give away as a cuddly present to your little niece or nephew? Vary with different yarns and make your very own chicken family! Do you want two little chicks or are you making a whole brood?

Stuff the balls. There could be a little hole between the little balls, close it with a few sts.
Turn the body of the chicken inside out and put the cockscomb in between the seam of the head and sew it with needle and thread, at the same time attaching the cockscomb. Flip it back to the right side and stuff the chicken.
Bottom:
Use Drops Paris colour 17 and crochet hook no. 4.
Ch. 7.
Round 1: Start in the 2nd ch. from your hook and sc. 5, sc. 3 in the last ch. Continue on the other side of the chain, sc. 4, sc. 2 in the last st. (14 st.)
Round 2: Sc. 2 in next st., sc. 4, sc. 2 in next 3 sts., sc. 4, sc. 2 in next 2 sts. (20 st.)
Round 3: Sc. 2 in next 2 st., sc. 4, sc. 2 in next 6 sts., sc. 4, sc. 2 in next 4 sts. (32 st.)
In round 4 you are going to attach the bottom to the body. Sc. 32.
Make an decorative edging with Phil coton 3 colour 64 and crochet hook no. 2,5. Sc. 2 in each st. (64 st.)
Beak:

Sc. 3 in a magic ring.

Cast off and stuff it a little. Attach it to the head with a few stitches.

Make 1 pompom size 65mm for the body and pompom size 45mm for the head, use for both the pompoms a double yarn (1 yarn paris and 1 yarn Rico)
Attach the pompoms to each other.
Beak of the chick:
Use Phildar Phil Coton 3 colour 71 and crochet hook no. 2,5
Sc. 3 in a magic ring
Round 1: Sc. 2 in all sts. (6 st.)
Round 2: Sc. 6.
Cast off. Attach the beak on the head of the chick, and the eyes just above the beak. (The eyes are glued on the chicks)
Legs:
Use Phildar Phil Coton 3 colour 71 and crochet hook no. 2,5.
Sc. 6 in a magic ring and close with a sl.st.

Place 1 chick in the egg shell and attach the other shell on his head.
Insert a piece of iron thread in the leg and wrap it with the same colour yarn as the legs. Put them in the egg shell and sew them.
Attach the legs of the other chick to his body.
